A practical checklist for exploring, comparing and purchasing a home in southwest Las Vegas.

1. Define your everyday priorities

Write down essential layouts, outdoor spaces, garage needs, commute destinations and your target timing. Separate must-haves from preferences.

2. Understand the full budget

Discuss financing with a lender. Account for taxes, insurance, association assessments, utilities and ongoing maintenance—not just the mortgage payment.

3. Explore the community

Visit parks, try your commute at realistic hours and compare neighborhood streets in the morning and evening. A ZIP code is not a subdivision boundary.

4. Research the exact address

Verify CCSD school assignments, association membership and access to any private amenities. Review current documents and inspection findings with the appropriate professionals.

5. Compare relevant homes

Ask for current listings and closed sales with similar size, layout, condition and lot characteristics. Consider terms and timing alongside price.
